Charlotte transit post a great job ... all day every day - Charlotte Business Journal:

Good question. Before you apply, there are a couple of thingsw to keepin mind. Sure, it’ss old news that the soon-to-be-departed transit CEO, has spentr plenty of time lobbying for federal and states money while steering preliminary work onthe billion-dollat light-rail extension and a $378 millionn commuter-rail line. Plunging transit tax revenue has made the expansion discussiob far more complicatedthan expected. Will CATS be forced to choose one of its rail lines overthe other, or can it find a way to do both?? At the same time, a simmering debatw over a possible new transitg tax, doubling the current one, also looms.
Some city and count leaders favor at leasty gaining the right to put the tax before the voters by seeking GeneralAssembly approval. But a coalition of busines and political leaders prefers to see new dollar funneledto roads. Parker, seated in his uptown office overlooking thetransit center, cites none of thosw things during an interview a few hours after announcint he’s headed to Texas to run San Antonio’s transit Instead, he describes what the giftse and burdens are of a job that routinely consumes 75 hoursd a week or more.
